Our commitment
- Affordability first. Every application is reviewed for ability to repay, not just credit score. That's why some borrowers are offered less than they request.
- Clear costs. The APR, payment and total of payments are shown before you sign.
- A firm price ceiling. Loanify APRs never exceed 35.99%.
- No penalty for paying early, and no upfront fees, ever.
- No pressure. Offers don't expire in minutes and there's no cost to decline.
- Help when things change. Borrowers who contact us before a missed payment can ask about due-date changes or short-term arrangements, subject to their agreement and state law.
Before you borrow: a 6-question checklist
- What exactly is the expense, and what's the exact amount?
- Have I asked the provider about a payment plan or hardship discount?
- Can I cover part of it from savings without leaving myself at zero?
- Does the monthly payment fit my budget in my tightest month?
- Do I know the total dollar cost, not only the APR?
- Would I still take this loan if the expense were delayed a month?
If you can answer the first five confidently, a Loanify personal loan may be a reasonable tool. If question four gives you pause, try a smaller amount or a longer term with the loan calculator.
A useful rule: keep total non-housing debt payments under about 10% to 15% of your take-home pay. Above that, small surprises start to cause missed payments.Lending tip from the Loanify Editorial Team
When a loan isn't the right answer
Borrowing is usually not the right fit if you're using it to cover regular monthly living costs, you're already behind on several debts, or you'd need a new loan to repay this one. In those situations, a budget review with a nonprofit counselor will help more than new credit.
Warning signs of debt stress
- Paying only minimums on every card for several months
- Using one form of credit to pay another
- Regular overdraft fees
- Avoiding opening bills or statements
